It’s academic program includes an integrated humanities program, an issues-oriented science program, an enhanced mathematics program, and extensive world languages courses, with a technology component incorporated into these courses. The WMA is headed by 66 faculty members, 44 of whom live on campus and 70% of whom have advanced degrees. The curriculum consists of small classes (6:1 student/teacher ratio) and 23 AP courses. WMA's middle school consists of 64 students and has an average class size of eight. Athletics include rugby, lacrosse, baseball, cross country, dance, wrestling, soccer, tennis, golf, football, basketball, track, riflery, volleyball, softball, water polo, crew and swimming. In the fall of 2007, the Academy announced the $4 million renovation of the Greenhalgh Athletic Center on campus. The addition included a fitness room, a multipurpose dance and wrestling space, a large conference room and new central locker facilities.
The Academy is situated in the centre of the town of Wilbraham, located in western Massachusetts, seven miles east of Springfield. It dominates 300 acres of what was formerly rich farmland and wooded hillsides.
Wilbraham & Monson is profoundly appreciative of all students, parents, faculty and friends who have chosen to support the Academy in perpetuity through the formation of an endowment fund. Endowed funds provide WMA with long-term financial support that is vital to our success in creating transformational opportunities for students. These funds provide unrestricted support for the Academy’s areas of greatest need, or for a specific purpose within the Academy’s mission which may include scholarship, academics, or faculty support.
