University of Pennsylvania

Founded in 1875, Indiana University of Pennsylvania is a vibrant, comprehensive, research-based, teaching-focused, student-focused learning community. IUP combines the academic opportunities of a large university with the highly personalized and intimate learning environment of a small college. Not only does IUP offer an abundance of undergraduate and master's programs, but it is the only university in the Pennsylvania State Higher Education System to offer doctoral degrees in philosophy.

Degrees range from broader, more traditional (philosophy, anthropology) to career-specific (safety sciences, respiratory therapy). IUP students have a student/faculty ratio of 16:1. Almost all classes are taught by faculty members, as opposed to graduate assistants.

The University Libraries consist of the Stapleton/Stabley building, the Orendorff Music Library, the Punxsutawney Regional Library, and the Northpoint Regional Library.
