The University boasts more than 150 clubs and organizations, and students have to gain access to hundreds of various study abroad programs, including those at Tuscany Campus in Prato, Italy. Student News is provided by The Charger Bulletin, a weekly student-run newspaper available in hard copy and online.
Students and public members also broadcast on the campus radio station, WNHU 88.7 FM, which is also available online and has won several Best College Radio Station awards in local media readers' polls. At the University of New Haven, campus recreation is called Charger REC, with a home base in the David A. Beckerman Recreation Centre. There are nearly 50 intramural offerings in three divisions (men's, women's, and co-REC), subdivided into categories by talent level. The University has 11 club sports teams and offers over 35 different fitness classes, personal training, and lifetime health and skills classes.
The University of New Haven's main campus is placed on 82 acres in West Haven, Connecticut, a suburban hillside community minutes from New Haven and miles of Connecticut shoreline and beaches. The site is 90 minutes from New York City and 2 1/2 hours from Boston.
A limited number of Provost's Assistantships and Dean's Scholarships are granted to various academic departments within each College at the University of New Haven. All full-time domestic and international master’s students interested in a Provost's Assistantship or a Dean's Scholarship must complete their entire application packet for admission by the deadline for consideration.
