The history of Dayton University is one of perseverance, tenacity, ingenuity and transformation. The college began an act of belief more than 160 years ago.
Opening with only 14 students, one building and one farm, the University of Dayton rose from its meek beginnings in 1850 to become a world-renowned university.
The university offers more than 80 undergraduates and 50 graduate and doctoral programs, and its academics are stimulating.
Not just for the sake of it, but because there are real problems in the world that need to be addressed. That way, when graduation arrives, students will not reach the real world relatively for the first time, yet will already be part of it, fully prepared for their careers and their lives.
Whether it's the buzz in the air from having more than 270 student assemblages and organizations, the creative energy around the university's arts events, the passion for Division I athletics and campus recreation happenings, or the feeling that the students are all in this together, their involvement will be unforgettable.
