University of Colorado Denver

The University of Colorado Denver was founded on January 11, 1973, when the governor declared it had amended the state constitution to create additional CU campuses, turning the University of Colorado-Denver Center into the University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver). In 1977, students of CU Denver began studying at the Auraria campus. Today, the university teaches more than 15,000 students and is the only metropolitan research community in the state of Colorado.

CU Denver offers more than 100 academic degrees and courses to ensure that students learn independently and find a successful career. Students can choose between 52 master's programs, 13 doctoral programs and several credential programs to help them build up professionally and achieve success in today's cutthroat workplace.

It is known for its programs in the fields of urban development, criminal justice, business, education, applied science and engineering, film and music, as well as a comprehensive collection of professional health programs.
