Student organizations at the University actively participate in and contribute to a vibrant university community by meeting these hopes. The approximately over 400 listed student organizations at the university deliver valued knowledge and chances for students to grow up as individuals, leaders, and community members.

Texas State's San Marcos campus is in a rising community of 60,000 people in the Austin Metropolitan Area. Situated in the Texas Hill Country, where black land prairies roll into lovely hills, Texas State relishes a setting that is distinctive among Texas universities. The beauty of the crystal-clear San Marcos River and the majestic cypress and oak trees on the campus add to the allure of the universityís picturesque setting. The Texas State Round Rock Campus is stationed north of Austin.

The university has scholarships for freshman, transfer, continuing, and international students. Freshman students will be considered for Assured Scholarships and Competitive Scholarships, incoming freshmen students are given three types of academic scholarships: State, Guaranteed, and Competitive. Transfer students are offered a variety of academic scholarships, to be eligible for the scholarship students are required to meet the Assured Admission standards. They also offer a variety of academic scholarships to continuing, certification, and second baccalaureate students, and International students are encouraged to apply for academic scholarships, in order to be eligible applicants must be enrolled or accepted to the university by the scholarship date.
