Stony Brook University is one of America’s most vibrant public universities, a center of academic distinction, and a globally known research institution that is transforming the world. It was founded in 1957 as a college for the preparation of secondary school teachers of mathematics and science.

Situated on 1,039 acres on the north shore of Long Island, Stony Brook University are a four-season climate, tempered by vicinity to the Atlantic Ocean and Long Island Sound.

With over 325+ organizations there are countless opportunities to be involved on campus. The Discover. Engage. lead curriculum consists of interactive interaction mentors who collaborate with students to explain how they can become engaged, what organizations can relate to them on the basis of fields of interest, and how to navigate similar services commonly found within the campus culture.

Stony Brook University is committed to acknowledging and honoring the achievements of its students in all fields of learning and research. A number of scholarships are given to new and continuing candidates, some on merit alone and some taking into account special talent, leadership, and community service or financial needs. Campus Recreation and Fitness offer several scholarships to students who are interested in student life and sports on campus. The Economics Department grants scholarships to high-profile economics students who are involved majors at Stony Brook University, the scholarships are meant to provide funding to undergraduate students in order to continue their economics studies. Likewise, the university has other types of scholarships that students can avail, scholarships may be extended to all of the expenses associated with Stony Brook student tuition and may not be used for school purposes only.
