Stanford University was instituted in 1885 by California senator Leland Stanford and his wife, Jane, to stimulate public welfare by exercising an impact on behalf of humanity and society. It is one of the world's top exploration universities. It is known for its business character, drawn from the legacy of its creators, Jane and Leland Stanford, and its affiliation to Silicon Valley. Areas of excellence range from the humanities to social sciences to engineering and the sciences.

The University today includes seven schools and 18 interdisciplinary institutes thousands of students, faculty, and postdoctoral scholars. With more than 25 offices and centers, Student Affairs offers a wide variety of resources and assistance to Stanford students, including leadership development, residential activities, public service, job discovery, and community engagement. Students, faculty, and staff enjoy state-of-the-art recreation centers and fitness services. Stanford students participate in 36 different sports and 32 club sports. The university also offers a wide variety of events and distinctive performing arts experiences.

Stanford University is offering scholarships to undergraduate students. The two types of scholarships for undergraduate students are athletic scholarships and needs-based scholarships. The maximum amount is entirely subsidized, which ensures that they will cover tuition, room, and board for you to attend Stanford University.
