St. Edward’s University is an autonomous Catholic university that accepts qualified students of all ages, qualifications and principles and serves a culturally varied student body. It was created by the Congregation of Holy Cross, from which it acquired distinguishing characteristics, the courage to take risks, an intercontinental perspective and the commitment to provide informative chances for students of diverse cultural, spiritual, educational and economic environments.

The university’s undergraduate curriculums achieve a balance among the humanities, the sciences and the occupations. Undergraduates are encouraged to develop an understanding of the human person that is derived from reason and open to faith. Edward’s campus is perched on a hilltop overlooking Austin. It is a community within a community. The university provides students with the resources they need to be happy, safe, and well.

All new students admitted by regular enrollment will be eligible for our merit scholarships, which range from $14,000 to $26,000 annually. Students will be assessed for merit scholarships based on GPA high school, class rank (if available) and academic experience in high school. The University of St. Edward uses a holistic review process.
