Old Dominion University is home to more than 300 student groups, providing students with an opportunity to expand their development and learning through leadership, service, and socialization with a diverse community of peers. Student organizations register with the university each year and are fully student-led, can apply for funding from the Student Government Association to cover annual expenses, and are advised by a member of the ODU Faculty/Staff. The Office of Leadership and Student Engagement is providing ongoing resources to promote the growth of these groups, their members, and their leaders. The University Libraries have online literature databases, e-books, thousands of online journals, and more than 3 million papers in their physical collections. Good lifestyles are also an important part of overall performance and ODU provides a range of resources and initiatives designed to help students maintain optimal health. In addition, the student-centered department, Student Outreach, and Support provide support to students who face administrative, academic, or personal roadblocks. Old Dominion University offers a renewable (up to four years) undergraduate merit scholarship. Awards range between $5,000 and $14,000 annually to qualified applicants.
