Kent State University
Since its establishment as a teacher-training school in 1910, Kent State has been a driving force for economic, cultural, and labor growth in the area and beyond as Ohio's leading university. Ohio University has also won acclamation for adapting new knowledge to the needs of the communities it serves and society as a whole across a wide variety of continuing education courses and much more.
The Kent Campus is spread over 950 acres. In 2018, according to the National Council for Home Protection and Security, Kent State was ranked the safest major college campus in Ohio and the 25th safest in the world. There are more than 370 clubs and organizations on campus, some specifically for international students. There are also 18 sports teams and 32 sororities and fraternities.
