Howard University Hospital, a Category 1 Trauma Center, has been one of the most extensive health care facilities in the Washington, DC metropolitan area over its 145-year history of offering the finest primary, secondary, and tertiary health care services. More than 200 registered student organizations are also offered by the university for students to get their best university life experience. The main campus at Howard is home to 256 acres of land in the District of Columbia and Maryland. Blocks from the storied U Street and Howard Theatre, the historic main campus sits on a hilltop in Northwest Washington.
