Gonzaga University is a private institution that was founded in 1887. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 5,238, its setting is city, and the campus size is 152 acres. It is committed to the Jesuit, Catholic, humanistic principles of educating the mind, body, and spirit to produce men and women for others, providing a Catholic liberal arts education.

The university has two large libraries. Foley Center Library is Gonzaga's main graduate and undergraduate library, opened in 1992. Chastek Law Library primarily serves the Gonzaga University School of Law, erected in 2000.It is a mid-size institution with an enrollment of 5,237 undergraduate students.

Admissions is somewhat competitive as the Gonzaga acceptance rate is 62%.Gonzaga offers more than 50 undergraduate majors with a core curriculum that incorporates religious studies, philosophy, mathematics and more.

Many students admitted to Gonzaga will receive scholarships on the basis of academic merit. These scholarships are offered by the Office of Admission and are based on numerous factors, including high school grade point average, co-curricular activities and involvement, standardized test scores, and high school teacher/counselor recommendations. These scholarships are renewable as established by the Gonzaga Guarantee.
