Georgetown Located in Washington, D.C. founded in 1789, is the oldest Catholic and Jesuit University in the country. Building on Jesuit education's 450-year-old tradition, The university is approved by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States. It interacts with over 300 foreign partners, including the University of Fudan and the University of Sophia. Today, it is among the world's leading universities that deliver a unique learning experience for students and staff.

The university enrolls more than 6,300 undergraduates from all 50 states and over 130 countries .More than 400 international scholars are teaching or conducting research at the university. Georgetown also supports over 180 study-abroad programs in 52 countries, among which students can select a semester, year, or summer options. In a wide range of fields, the schools offer undergraduate and graduate degrees, including liberal arts, science, international affairs, law, medicine, business management, and public policy degrees, and an increasing array of advanced certificates and programs for continuing education.

Each year Georgetown University awards several hundred need-based scholarships to eligible undergraduates. Individual awards range in value from $1,000 to more than $60,000 per year, depending on the student’s financial need. In addition to small loan and work-study awards, these scholarships meet 100% of eligible undergraduates’ demonstrated financial need.
