Students will experience a lively campus life that complements classroom learning that includes leadership development, student governance, more than 30 student clubs, and educational and cultural events. CSM is proud of its Intercollegiate Athletic Team Championship, which competes at the highest community college level. Each year, three colleges in the San Mateo County Community College District (Cañada College, San Mateo College, and Skyline College) award institutional scholarships to new, continuing, and transfer students. Awards are based on academic achievement, financial need, or specific interests such as clubs, athletes, and services. Many student-athletes earn scholarships and continue their careers at four-year colleges, and a number of CSM athletes have moved on to professional careers. CSM provides a wide range of academic support programs to ensure student success. Resources include financial aid and grants, counseling, transition programs, tutoring, job assistance, pediatric services, and child care, among many others.
