The University serves more than 10,000 students at either the main campus in Bakersfield or CSUB Antelope Valley and has more than 50,000 students from its four schools: Arts and Humanities, Business and Public Administration, Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Engineering, and Social Sciences and Education. It offers undergraduate, graduate, post-graduate, and certificate programs and a doctoral program in the area of educational leadership (Ed.D). CSUB's Expanded University supports the community by providing additional professional development, certification, and graduation programs. Students at CSU Bakersfield take school seriously, but there is still plenty of time to enjoy college life on and off-campus.

The CSUB includes a state-of-the-art student recreation center, over 85 student societies, and clubs, and 11 fraternities and sororities. Students can also enjoy Roadrunner NCAA Division I sporting activities, campus performances, and plenty of dining and entertainment options in the city of Bakersfield. Bakersfield is situated in the heart of the agricultural and oil-producing regions of the west coast, at the logistic junction of the transport routes east-west and north-south. CSU Bakersfield is the largest community public university within a 100-mile radius.
