The University of Roehampton, previously the Roehampton College of Higher Education, is a public university in the United Kingdom based on three main sites in Roehampton, London, Wandsworth. In the past, Roehampton was an equal partner, along with the University of Surrey, at the now-dissolved Federal University of Surrey. Roehampton became a university in 2004. It was renamed the University of Roehampton in 2011. The university was one of the post-1992 universities. As well as great graduate opportunities, the university has a Silver TEF award. Within six months of graduation, 92% of students discovered jobs or continued their studies (DLHE 2017).
The RSU is the main organization of student representation at the university. It is led by student officers elected by the student body and aims to promote the interests and well-being of all those studying in Roehampton. It is also a focal point for social activities and is responsible for organizing events such as the Summer Ball, which is the largest event of the academic year. These events, draw more than 2,000 students and are held on campus, it also attracts a number of musical and entertainment activities. The RSU also organizes nights out in London, some of which include the Clapham Grand once a month, the Putney Fez Club on Wednesday nights and the Bop Trade Union Special Event organized by the Union Pub, the Union itself has 12 separate pubs, cafés, and restaurants scattered across the campus.
The University of Roehampton has initiated a scholarship program for undergraduate, first-year, high-level applicants, BTECs, International Baccalaureate, and a number of similar certificates. The scholarship ranges from £2,000-£3,000. The university also provides generous scholarships worth £4,000 per year, as a discount on tuition fees. They are also pleased to offer a scholarship to all EU students enrolling in an undergraduate or postgraduate Masters's Degree, which ensures that EU students can automatically benefit from a discount on the tuition fees paid.
