Reading University has a rich past. The university, founded in 1892, has established itself over the years as a globally linked institution with an outstanding reputation for research and quality teaching. The university has recently been ranked among the world's top 200 universities (QS World University Rankings 2020). Situated on an award-winning campus near London, the university has a population of around 5,000 foreign students from over 165 nations.

Reading makes the effort to ensure that hundreds of clubs and societies, and a wide variety of sports and leisure facilities, are well integrated with all students. The University of Reading also offers a number of scholarships for students in order to assist with funding. The university campus has spent GBP 500 million, which includes housing, research, and teaching. A GBP 200 million investment aimed at upgrading campus infrastructure is the " 2026: Transform " initiative. One of the main changes is a complete refurbishment of the library, offering students a skilled and necessary facility. There are testing facilities, multi-purpose spaces and as well as journal collections, and digital connectivity. The University of Reading aims to represent the values of the wider community, and the university takes pride in the rich cultural diversity of the student community.

The University of Reading offers a wide variety of grants to master's students. Few awards are given directly by the University, others are awarded to the students by external funding agencies and others are collectively sponsored. The University has allocated £200,000 for part-time scholarships. Along with Chevening Scholarships, Commonwealth shared Scholarships, Snowdown Masters Scholarships, etc, the university provides some course-based scholarships also. The University of Reading is honored to have been chosen by the British Council as co-funder of seven GREAT scholarships. These scholarships are awarded to master's students from particular countries with a value of £10000. Mexico, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, China, Ghana, Indonesia, Malaysia are the countries for which the University has been allocated funding.
