A wave generator, a dive center, and three research vessels are included in its facilities.

The University of Plymouth, along with tuition fee loans offers a number of course-specific scholarships, Santander Scholarships, this scholarship is open to both graduate and undergraduate students who want to conduct a time of research, study, or work-based learning in the United Kingdom or abroad. For a variety of projects, including language exchange programs, initiatives to promote volunteering and the development of employability skills, a minimum of 20 awards ranging from £750 to a maximum value of £1,000 can be awarded.
