The Centre for Research on Ageing (CRA) is an international and multidisciplinary research and teaching centre devoted to cutting-edge research on ageing and the life course, informing policy and debate and educating professionals and academics in the field of gerontology.

The PhD Gerontology is normally completed after three years of full-time registration (or six years of part-time registration). Students on this programme are expected to have completed a postgraduate programme in Gerontology or related social science discipline with a significant element of research methods training.
