Victoria University of Wellington students could study abroad in another country as part of their degree. There are currently 140 exchange collaborator universities in 30 countries to choose from, including Canada, Mexico, Denmark, and Singapore.
Students are backed throughout their time at the university by an array of services, which focus on things such as extra study help, support for disabled students, a devoted service for international students, confidential counseling, and advice on health and wellbeing.
In their spare time, students have the opportunity to get involved in one of the many clubs and societies run across the institution, which range from special-interest groups to sports teams. These offer a great opportunity to meet new people and settle into new surroundings. There are also volunteering opportunities and the chance for students to start their society and demonstrate leadership skills.
The university manages to provide a range of scholarships at the undergraduate and postgraduate level, these scholarships provide practical and financial assistance to students to get a head start. Some scholarships have a stipend that covers tuition and living expenses, while others only cover a portion of the costs. The VU Future Leaders Scholarship (International) provides financial assistance to new international students planning to begin their higher education diploma, undergraduate, or postgraduate (coursework) studies. Deane Music Scholarship, Andrea Brander Accommodation Scholarship, and if you've just begun your Ph.D., are halfway through or are nearing completion, there are several scholarships open to you as a doctoral candidate. These scholarships are followed by some postgraduate scholarships offered by the university.
