Agriculture, engineering, sciences, computing, industry, commerce, landscape architecture, environment, horticulture, forestry, property valuation, sports and recreation, transportation, fruit, winemaking, viticulture, tourism, and hospitality are among the specializations available at the university. There are 14 study centers. Around 1500 foreign students represent 80 different countries, accounting for 48 percent of the student body. Around 200 academic staff members, all of whom are extremely qualified and skilled, work at the university at Lincoln University.

International scholarships are usually awarded in recognition of scholarly skill or accomplishment. Lincoln International School Leaver Scholarship priced at NZ$10,000 is open to new students pursuing Bachelor's degree programs. Students must meet the curriculum and English standards to be considered for a scholarship. Lincoln University International Graduate Scholarship priced at NZ$3,000 is open to new students pursuing undergraduate programs. Students must meet the curriculum and English standards to be considered for a scholarship.
