University of Minnesota (Know about the Institution)

Graduate study and research in structural engineering, mechanics and materials has an emphasis on analyzing and solving engineering structural problems through a combination of experimental, numerical, and analytical models. The program has seven full-time faculty in structural engineering, one emeritus faculty member, and additional faculty in related fields (materials, geoengineering). There are currently 30 full-time graduate students with an emphasis in structural engineering. Nearly one-third of these students are in the Ph.D. program.

Entry requirements for University of Minnesota - Twin Cities

A bachelor's degree in an engineering, basic science, or mathematics program is preferred.

The preferred undergraduate GPA for admittance to the program is 3.00.

Admission depends primarily on the applicant's academic record and letters of recommendation. Applicants who lack civil engineering training are often required to complete one or more appropriate courses from the undergraduate civil engineering program. Graduate credit is not awarded for such preparatory work.
