The MacEwan Student Centre, Taylor Family Digital Library, the Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning serve up as hubs of scholarly and leisure endeavors on the main campus. There is also a museum and art gallery, four performance theatres, two childcare centers, and dwellings for single students and students with families. The university lately expanded the Engineering Complex and created new residences. The Cumming School of Medicine and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine are situated on the south campus adjacent to the Foothills Hospital.
Satellite institutes of the university include the Kananaskis Bio geoscience Institute, situated a short drive from the urban on the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains, the Rothney Astrophysical Observatory, positioned in the slopes south of the city, and a campus in Doha, Qatar, offering internationally accredited nursing degrees to students in the Middle East. Development of the university's west campus is presently taking place and is the site of the Alberta Childrenís Hospital. The university highlights some of the finest athletic services in the country. The Olympic Oval is an international speedskating service. It houses the Canadian Sport Institute, a high-performance training center, and two Olympic-sized rinks were the reigning women's gold-medal hockey team trains.
There are tennis courts, a triple gymnasium, a yoga studio, an Olympic-size swimming pool, weight rooms, jogging tracks, an Outdoor Centre extending equipment rentals, courses and instruction, and a massive indoor climbing wall. Adjacent is the home of the Dinos football team, McMahon Stadium. The University of Calgary is built in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, with four campuses in the Calgary area and a fifth in Doha, Qatar. Calgary is one of the Canadaís tidiest, safest, most culturally disparate urban centers, repeatedly ranked as one of the worldís most livable cities. With a population of 1.2 million, it's also the largest city in Alberta and the third-largest municipality in Canada.
The University of Calgary is known to provide a wide variety of financial assistance to foreign students through grants, honors, scholarships, and work-study schemes. The scholarship is awarded both on the basis of academic achievements and financial needs. UCalgary International Entrance Scholarships are given to potential international students applying for every undergraduate degree. The university chooses two recipients, each of whom collects CAD 15,000, to be used for the paying of university tuition. CIBC International Entrance Scholarship, University of Calgary International Entrance Award, University of Calgary International Undergraduate Award, University of Calgary Award for International Student-Athletes are other scholarships offered at the university.
