Student clubs at UBC have been rising strongly since the first Glee club was started in 1915. There are now 370 clubs available to students, so there is a club for nearly everyoneís concerns. UBC spends more than $30 million annually on grants, scholarships, and other forms of financial assistance to international undergraduate students. International Main Entrance Scholarships (IMES) are awarded to excellent international students pursuing undergraduate programs at the university, it also has one-time merit-based entrance scholarship, Outstanding International Student (OIS) Award, This scholarship is awarded to eligible applicants as they are granted entry to the university.
