North Island College was founded in 1975 as a primary distance education institution. The College that began out of a portable trailer in Campbell River and a few transformed school buses now has an international status for integrating Aboriginal viewpoints into nursing schools' syllabus across Canada. Over the past 40 years, more than 155,000 people have taken a course or completed a NIC program. From university studies to apprenticeship training, upgrading courses to degree programs, NIC recommends a wide variety of programs and methods to help students reach their objectives. Students will study in the picturesque Comox Valley, where an adventure and quality education awaits them.
With an exclusive array of transfer agreements, NIC is also a great place to start education. Many in-community programs are delivered in partnership with remote communities across 80,000 km from Ucluelet on Vancouver Island's west coast to Bella Coola on the central mainland.
