The specific goal of the Sports and Recreation Department is to develop services to address the needs and desires of students in the fields of recreation, intramural, and inter-collegiate events. John Abbott College also has the Department of Student Activities and Student Committees, which coordinate events such as the Student Debate, the United Nations Model Meeting, the Winter Carnival, the Multicultural Week, and the Homophobia Awareness Day. Student government, the student newspaper, student radio station, and more than 30 student clubs flourish on campus with the participation of approximately 1,500 students who learn practical skills and build lifelong friendships.
The John Abbott College Foundation supports students with a variety of scholarships (merit-based) and bursaries (needs-based). As well, further financial assistance can be provided to students who are eligible.
With a plethora of opportunities that the college provides to its students, the added advantage is its tuition fees as it is comparatively cheaper than other universities in Canada. Manya Education has extensive information on John Abbott’s admission requirements, courses, fees, and other necessary details for Indian students looking for admissions in undergraduate or graduate programs.
