Dawson College is a large long-established educational institution within the Quebec network of CEGEPs that is part of the academic life of Montreal. It was the first CEGEP in English to begin offering classes in 1969. It is the largest CEGEP in Quebec today.
Dawson students, faculty, and staff represent a wide variety of languages and ethnic backgrounds representing the multicultural existence of Montreal itself. This diversity profoundly enriches all members of the College community by providing a supportive and stimulating atmosphere in which to learn and work and in which students are prepared to assume their position as active and responsible citizens of the world. Dawson College is easily accessible, with direct underground connections to Atwater Metro Station. The school sits above the ground on 12 acres of green space in the center of Montreal. Students use the grounds to play Frisbee or just read under a tree.
