Infrastructure Protection and International Security combines the unique resources of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs to deliver a multidisciplinary program designed to bring together the core principles of critical infrastructure engineering and multi-hazard threat risk assessment with an awareness of the policy framework in which security practitioners operate, and policy options available to security practitioners.
The objective is to produce graduates who can contribute effectively to the multidisciplinary teams needed to deliver robust, cost-effective, socially responsible solutions to ensure safe and resilient national critical infrastructure systems.Carleton University's strategic location in Ottawa, the Nation?s Capital, provides an appropriate backdrop for those security practitioners, engineers and policy advisors who seek advanced studies in critical infrastructure protection (CIP).
