As one of Canada's Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs), Alexander College offers a range of college degree and move programs, including university transfer programs and associate degree programs. Coordinated English for the Academic Purposes program is also available to help non-local English speakers progress to college-level examinations in the English language. Staffed with Subject Area Specialists and Academic Writing Instructors covering all current subject areas, the WLC team works diligently with students, and students who use learning support services tend to perform better in their academic studies. In addition, Alexander College remains committed to holistic student improvement through empowerment, engagement, and lifelong learning. Events and clubs at Alexander College are organized and run by students with the support of ACSA (Alexander college student association), new clubs and events are regularly developed on the basis of student interests.
The academic year includes four terms: Fall (Sept-Dec), Winter (Jan-Apr), Spring (May-July), and Summer Intensive (July-Aug), and the college provides scholarships in each major term. Academic scholarships reward outstanding achievements in a specific discipline (e.g., commerce, psychology, etc.). In addition to their internal scholarships, Alexander College is committed to student success by linking students to external scholarships.
