A wide variety of support is also available for students at TAFE Queensland, plus help for those with a disability, a confidential counseling facility, and education assistance. The International Student Support Office is at hand to make sure students have a smooth transition and settle down quickly on arrival to Australia.
TAFE Queensland certifies that students are prepared for work during and after their studies, and offers connections to services including careers advice, cv writing and cover letters, interview practice, and assistance when looking for work experience or jobs.
Students across the TAFE Queensland campuses are persuaded to get involved with extra-curricular activities so that they have plenty of chances to meet new people and integrate into their new home. These include sports competitions, group day trips, and end of term parties.
To support their students further the institute provides two types of scholarships, merit scholarship, Access and equity scholarship. Students who can demonstrate excellent academic merit or strong work performance, as well as a demonstrable desire to secure ongoing jobs in the industry to which they applied for the scholarship, are granted merit scholarships. Access and Equity scholarship include equal opportunities to research at TAFE Queensland, this scholarship is given to students who show a sincere interest in and dedication to their chosen field, as well as students who meet clear equity requirements.
