The Catholic University of Australia (ACU) is recognized worldwide for the excellence of its teaching and science. It is ranked as the number one Catholic university in the Asia-Pacific region and is in the top 80 universities (Times Higher Education Asia-Pacific University Rankings 2019). It is also one of the top 100 young universities (THE Young University Rankings 2019). ACU has grown rapidly over the past few years, and now has eight campuses across Australia in Adelaide (not currently available to international students), Ballarat, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, and Sydney (Blacktown, North Sydney, and Strathfield), and an international campus in Rome, Italy.

Each ACU campus has a student representative council and there is a national student body named the Australian Catholic University National Student Association (ACUNSA), which campaigns both independently and jointly on behalf of students. Students have the chance, with everything from guitar lessons to sport, to experience a lively and exciting life at ACU. Participation in ACU extra-curricular activities offers the perfect opportunity for students to socialize and build friendships. The university host an annual national sports festival – the ACU Games – and students are also competing in Australia's biggest annual multi-sport event, the Australian University Games. Campus Life manages a wide variety of organizations and associations, as well as meetings, tournaments, and national programs. The Office of Student Success manages a variety of support programs on all campuses, including academic, autism, counseling, and Indigenous support.
