The Data Insights segment assesses applicants’ aptitude for interpreting, analyzing, and using data in practical business situations. One of the most pertinent and in-demand skills in business today is digital and data literacy, which is also measured by this tool.
It consists of 20 questions that challenge you to evaluate the relationships between various information sources and types (verbal, numerical, and visual) and how they might be used to make well-informed judgments. Math, data analysis, verbal reasoning, or all three may be needed to answer some questions. While working on this segment, a calculator appears on the screen.

All Total Score numbers on the GMAT Exam: Focus Edition end in a 5, and the scale goes from 205 to 805 overall. Within each section, one can score from 60 to 90 points.

All that Data Insights does is supplement the current Integrated Reasoning Questions with Data Sufficiency questions, which have always been a component of the quant portion. Compared to the problems on the “old” GMAT, the Data Sufficiency section often focuses more on your ability to handle information and data logically rather than being as math-heavy. But that change is not likely to be startling in any manner for the majority of test takers.
No! The Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA), which was a 30-minute essay-writing assignment, is no longer offered.
