Advanced Placement (AP) exams are offered by the College Board in the United States of America (USA). Students take AP courses for a year at the high school level and the exams are held in May every year.
The general AP exam pattern consists of multiple-choice and free-response sections.

Arts
The Arts category in the AP exams consists of many subjects as follows:

AP 2-D Art and Design, AP 3-D Art and Design & AP Drawing
These are 3 different exams but the AP exam pattern is the same for all.
- Candidates have to submit 3 AP Art and Design portfolio components for evaluation, namely Sustained Investigation Images, Sustained Investigation Written Evidence, and Selected Works.
- All portfolio types (Drawing, 3-D, and 2-D) have to be submitted digitally only.
There are 2 sections in the Art and Design Portfolio Exams:
