AP Test

AP is an academic program consisting of college-level courses and exams that students can take in the month of May. The AP Tests are a series of 38 odd exams across multiple subject areas. Each course is developed by a committee composed of college faculty and AP teachers and covers the breadth of information, skills, and assignments found in the corresponding college course. AP score plays an important part in your admission. If you’re considering to study abroad, your AP scores can also be significant in your application.

AP Questions

American colleges (and colleges of other countries where AP is accepted) often grant placement and course credit to students who obtain high scores above a certain number on the examinations.
The AP questions contain a free-response section (either essay or problem solving) and a section of multiple-choice questions. The multiple-choice AP questions are scored by computer, while the free-response portions are evaluated by a team of skilled.

AP Score

Completing an AP test is a huge talent. Your AP score is one way to share this accomplishment with your preferred colleges and universities. Students who take the AP test will get an AP score ranging from 1 to 5 scales as follows: –

5 – Extremely well qualified 
4 – Well qualified
3 – Qualified
2 – Possibly qualified
1 – No recommendation

The AP score from both sections is combined to produce a scaled score out of a 5. 

AP Test Centers in India and Registration Deadline

AP Exams – May 2024

AP Exams are administered once every year during the first two to three weeks of May and require advance registration. The 2024 AP Exams will be administered in AP authorized test centers as paper-and-pencil exams over two weeks in May: May 1–5 and May 8–12.  Late testing dates are from May 17 – 19 and are offered by some test centers if students cannot test during the first two weeks of May. Note that test centers select which exams from the full exam schedule they are able to offer.

Exam Registration at Authorized Test Centers:

• Registration for May 2024 AP Exams at authorized test centers in India opens on September 12, 2023, as per the official site, however, test centers are gradually opening the registrations starting from this week.
• Each test center has its own registration and payment instructions. Students have to ensure to check with the preferred test center so they do not miss their deadlines.
• Students must complete registration and payment directly with their selected test center between September and mid-November 2023 in order to reserve an exam seat at a test center. Some test centers may offer a second registration window (February through mid-March 2024) but with additional fees.
