The Association of Indian Universities has also ranked the IB Diploma Program on par with CBSE, ISCE, and other state boards (AIU). The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) is the international version to the CBSE’s 10+2 certification.

Yes, all international universities across the globe accept the IB certification provided by the International Baccalaureate board.

What is an IB Diploma?

The IB diploma is a two-year course that is similar to the Indian CBSE 10+2 qualification and is done in Grades 11 and 12.

What is the recognition of the IB Middle Years Program (MYP) in India?

The Association of Indian Universities has determined that the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program is equivalent to grade 10 of an Indian Board Assessment. After completing the MYP, students may apply to any school or college in India for further education.

How long will it take to study for an IB program?

IB curriculum offers 4 programs

Primary year program for students aged 3 to 10. It focuses on the development of the child as a whole as an inquirer both in the classroom and world outside.

Middle year program for students aged 11 to 16 and emphasizes on intellectual change. It encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the external world preparing them for success in further study and in life.

Diploma program is open to any student aged 16 to 19 at schools that have been authorized to implement the program

When are IB exams taken?

The major exams conducted annually by the IB board under the Baccalaureate degree and Diploma program are held in two sessions, one in November and the other in May.
