The visa application process would take 15-60 days.
In addition to the stated documents, you also need to provide proof that you don’t have any criminal record. Further, one of the ways to provide your proof of financial security is to deposit a security payment of 8,700 Euros for one year into a blocked account to ensure that you will not be able to withdraw the money until you arrive at Germany.
It is essential to obtain a Resident’s Permit to stay in Germany for more than three months. This is valid for two years and could also be renewed before it expires. Once you are in Germany, you need to convert your German Student visa into Resident’s Permit within two weeks of arrival. For this, you will have to register with the Local Registration Office (Bürgeramt or Einwohnermeldeamt).

Although you will already have provided your proof of language proficiency as a part of your university application, you may be required to provide this information again in order to gain your Resident’s Permit. For courses taught in German, international students need to provide a TestDaf or DSH score, or, for English-taught courses, you’ll need to provide a TOEFL or IELTS score.
Please remember that it is advisable to not enter Germany on a tourist visa as it is beyond the bounds of possibility to convert this into Resident’s Permit once you are in Germany.
