For Indian students seeking an educational experience in Europe, Poland may be a possibility. Poland, which is surrounded by Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Ukraine, has more than 170 international students studying there. Are you curious about the requirements for obtaining a student visa for Poland? Continue reading to find out how to study in Poland and what is required of you. This page aims to clarify Poland’s student visa application process. It is not a replacement for expert immigration counsel or advice. Eligibility

Indian students can apply for a study visa to Poland directly through the Embassy of Poland in India or one of the visa application facilities located around India. Polish student visas are classified as long-term “D” visas, allowing students to study at an approved higher education institution and remain in the country for more than 90 days every year. If you are attending a short course or staying in Poland for fewer than 90 days, you will need a “C” visa, which is a separate process. The long-term “D” visa is usually only valid for the duration of the educational programme or degree that the visa holder is pursuing. It also permits visa holders to visit other Schengen nations.

• Indian students would be required to show documentation verifying their educational history in India, as well as proof of their ability to sustain their stay in Poland.
• In addition, you must send a cover letter with your application. The letter should contain:

1. The objective of your journey to Poland
2. How long do you intend to remain there?
3. The documents you have attached with your application

• Your passport must also be valid for the period specified by the Polish government. Your passport should be no older than ten years, valid for at least three months after your last date in Poland and have at least two blank pages.
• Travel arrangements and medical insurance for Poland are a must in your application. If your application is denied, the Embassy of Poland is not responsible for your air travel expenditures. Travel medical insurance may be acquired from a list of recognised insurance firms in India, with a minimum coverage of €30,000.
• Polish authorities like to check that student candidates have adequate financial support to cover their living expenses and a return flight to India. If you are staying in Poland for 9 months for your programme, you must demonstrate access to at least 9 months of living expenses. Here are the needed amounts to display:

1. Living Expenses: Rs 14,017/month
2. Return trip minimum: Rs 49,989

To demonstrate that you have access to the appropriate amount of cash in India, you might provide any of the following:

• A traveller’s check(s) having a date no less than one month preceding the application.
• To access your credit card limit, you will need a certificate from the issuing bank and a certificate from a Polish bank or cooperative savings and lending association.
• Official documents certifying a national or international scholarship.
• A certificate of employment with a monthly wage statement.

If a family member will assist you instead, they must supply at least one of the following:

• A letter of sponsorship promising to cover all expenses, or
• A notarized letter from the applicant’s parents or
• A notarized letter from the sponsor, if not a family member.
• This should be attached to all of the documentation specified above so that the sponsor can fulfil the financial criteria.

Documents Required for Poland Student Visa

1. Filled out and signed visa application
2. Cover letter
3. Flight itinerary
4. Medical insurance for travel
5. A certificate of enrolment from a school in Poland
6. Evidence of tuition payment in Poland
7. Higher secondary certificates or graduate degrees from India
8. Proof of accommodation in Poland
9. Supporting documentation for your or your sponsor’s capacity to make the required financial contributions
10. Results of an English language test
11. Documentation proving you are an Indian resident
12. Copy of your passport data page
13. Signed copy of the checklist

The Online Application

1. Apply to and get granted admission to a Polish university
2. Pay your tuition fee
3. Download the visa application form
4. Complete and sign the application
5. Gather all of the supporting documents
6. Make an appointment at the closest centre for visa applications.
7. Attend your appointment to turn in your paperwork and passport, register your biometric data, and have your picture taken.
8. Pay the application cost in person or online; Application fee: Rs 7,173+ VFS Service charge: Rs 986
9. Follow up on your application and send in any other files that are needed.
10. Wait for a response in your email.
11. Get your passport and documentation from the VAC.

Note: You will need to present a government-issued ID and your original receipt to pick up your passport and documentation. If you would want a family member to pick it up, they will need to provide the original receipt, their government-issued ID, and a signed letter of authorization from you.

Prepare to answer questions about your academic ambitions, university preferences, financial situation, and post-graduation plans. It is critical to know details about the programme and university you have chosen.

Proficiency in the English Language

It may be helpful to include test results from any English language test, such as the IELTS (Band 6.0), the TOEFL, or the Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE). To enrol in an English programme, you must have at least the following test results: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 79, CAE 176.

Validity of your Visa

Non-EU nationals must get a student visa to study in Poland. This visa is valid for three months. To prolong their stay, students must apply for a residence permit at least 45 days before the expiration of their visa. The residency permit is valid for 15 months. You can extend it for up to three years, but it cannot go beyond the length of your course.
