PSAT Exam

The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a standardized test conducted by the College Board that administers the SAT. The PSAT is a great primer for the SAT.

Why Take the PSAT?

While the PSAT does not count towards your college admissions applications, the PSAT offers a powerful starting point to build your foundations for the SAT & ACT and an important guidepost on your college admissions journey. The College Board claims that just twenty hours of practice can raise your score an average of 115 points from the PSAT to the SAT.

  • By taking the PSAT:
  • Get familiar with the question types, format, & testing flow for the SAT.
  • Experience & overcome the time pressure & exam stress that you will encounter in the SAT.
  • Gather insight & obtain an early indicator of your performance & how you need to prepare for the SAT.
  • Plan for college more systematically: Get free access to the comprehensive online college planning tool called My College QuickStart.

PSAT Score Report provides very detailed and meaningful feedback about a student’s strengths and weaknesses in the skills tested on the PSAT. Students can not only see how they performed compared to other students who took the test, but also assess their performance on each question based on difficulty level (easy, medium, or hard).
