IGCSE has passing grades from A* to G, with A* being the highest grade, followed by A to G. There is also a grade U which implies ungraded.
A* is the best grade and G is the lowest. Each grade translates into Percentage Uniform Marks ( PUM). This is not the total mark obtained for the syllabus. It is a point on the common scale for all syllabuses to show whether the candidate’s performance is close to the top, middle, or bottom of the grade.

From the table, we see that a Grade B translates to a PUM of 70-79. While this may not be the best grade but is still fairly good. While trying to focus on the grades rigorously, it’s better not to lose focus on the core learning.
