Universities Offering Free Tuition Courses Abroad

While tuition cost in universities continues to surge across the world, some of you might be afraid that getting a perceived degree qualification, either in your home country or abroad, is simply impossible without having the luxury of a four or five-figure budget at your disposal, or without obtaining a scholarship. You’ll be surprised to hear that this isn’t necessarily the case. There are a few countries where you can study for free (zero tuition cost) or for fees that easily fits into your pocket. All you need to know is where to look at, in terms of study destination. If you’re keen to study abroad for at a low tuition cost or zero tuition cost and do not mind navigating extra paperwork and applications, you could find yourself studying abroad for free, with the option of pursuing at least a year or even your whole degree overseas.

Here are a few options:

Germany

The interest to study in Germany is growing day by day. This is due to the fact there are no undergraduate tuition fees for international students at most public universities in Germany. All international students can study here in Germany for free after paying an annual administration fee, which is usually less than €350. Moreover, Germany’s low study costs, combined with its strong economy and outstanding higher education system, makes the prospect of undertaking study in Germany extremely appealing for both students and their parents worldwide.

France

Paris is famous as one of the best student cities in the world and continues to top polls year after year. France doesn’t charge tuition at its public universities, no matter what nationality you are from. Just arm yourself with French and get ready to pay a small admin fee. It is important to note that France’s most esteemed universities, called Grandes Ecoles, do charge tuition, and therefore stick with a public university in France if you want to study abroad for free.

Norway

Do you speak Norwegian? If yes, it is fantabulous. You can study for free in Norway for just a registration fee of about $50. American students can reap the benefits of paying no tuition fees at any of the country’s state universities. The University of Oslo, University of Bergen, University of Stavanger, Norwegian University of Life Sciences, University of Agder and the University of Nordland are some of the colleges that are free for US students.

Iceland

Public universities are free for all students in Iceland, no matter where they come from. International students make up 5% of all students in the country. The University of Iceland, which is located in the capital Reykjavik, is one of the largest in Iceland and does not charge any tuition fees. On the other hand, in general, courses are taught in the Icelandic language but there are a few master’s programs taught in English by the University of Iceland, Reykjavik University and the University of Akureyri.

Brazil

If you are fluent in Portuguese, you could get yourself enrolled at one of Brazil’s esteemed public universities for just a very small registration fee. You will have to go through a test, just as other potential Brazilian students will do, exhibit your Portuguese skill level and acquire a CELPE-Bras certificate.

Czech Republic

If you can speak Czech fluently, no matter where you are from, you can study abroad in the Czech Republic for free. But don’t panic. Even if you are not a scholar in Czech, you can just enroll yourself in a language class for about $900 per semester.

You don’t need to have tons of cash or put yourself into major debt to study abroad. With extra effort and patience, plus flexibility on location, you can study abroad for free or at a very low cost. Even though the tuition might be affordable, be sure to check all the little things that require proper and regular attention. Check the living costs and additional fees that you might need to pay and go ahead!
